CHED and DepEd Announced Suspension of Classes on August 7, 2012
The Department of Education (DepEd), Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and Local Government Units (LGU) prompted to suspend classes on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 due to heavy rains brought about by the southwest monsoon.
Here are the list of areas and schools where classes have already been suspended: (as of 11pm on Monday)
Manila - all levels, public and private
Quezon City - pre-school to high school, public and private
Caloocan City - pre-school to high school, private and public; public college
Las PiƱas City - all levels in public and private schools
Valenzuela City - classes suspended in the following schools: A. Deato Elementary School, Coloong Elementary School, Isla Elementary School, Pasolo Elementary School, Pio Valenzuela Elementary School, PR San Diego Elementary School, Rincon Elementary School, Tagalag Elementary School, Wawang Pulo Elementary School, Arkong Bato National High School, Nuestra Senora De Guia Academy, San Diego Parochial School
Muntinlupa City - classes in all levels and public and private schools are suspended
Navotas City - pre-school to high school, public and private
Taguig City - all levels, public and private
San Juan - all levels, public and private
Pasay City - pre-school to high school, public and private
ParaƱaque - all levels, private and public
Makati - all levels, public and private
Marikina - pre-school to high school, public and private
Pateros - all levels, public and private
Outside Metro Manila
Laguna province - all levels, public and private
Taytay, Rizal - all levels in public and private schools are suspended
Binangonan, Rizal - pre-school to high school, public and private
Cainta, Rizal - pre-school to high school, public and private, suspended.
San Pedro, Laguna - all levels
Rosario, Cavite
Bacoor, Cavite - all levels, public and private
Balanga, Bataan - all levels, public and private
Rodriguez, Rizal, all levels, public and private
Kawit, Cavite - pre-school to high school, (public and private)
Pilar, Bataan - all levels, public and private
Classes in the following schools and universities have also been suspended:
Philippine Christian University - all levels including graduate school
Ateneo de Manila University - all levels, grade school to graduate school
Trinity University of Asia - all levels, including offices
University of the Philipines-Manila - all classes and office work suspended
University of Sto. Tomas - all levels, including graduate school; office work suspended
Adamson University - all classes and office work
Colegio de San Juan de Letran - all levels
De La Salle-College of St. Benilde - all classes, office work
Philippine College of Criminology - Manila Law College
Polytechnic University Philippines - all levels
University of the East - Manila and Caloocan - all levels
Miriam College - all levels
Arellano University-Malabon - classes and office work
De La Salle University - Taft, extensions - all levels
