15-Year-Old student Jhaypee Laganas wins P1Million jackpot in ‘It’s Showtime’. He is the first teen to win the P1 million jackpot prize in the ABSCBN noontime show. More photos with the ‘It’s Showtime’ hosts below!


Jhaypee said he did not go to school on Friday (Aug 3) to try his luck in the Kapamilya program’s “Arte Mo” game, which looked for magicians for contestants. “This is the answer to my prayers. I would always tell the Lord that I was willing to wait for an opportunity so I can help my family get by,” said Jhaypee, who also teaches kids the Bible using magic. He also said he wants to use his total jackpot prize of P1,010,000 to pay for his sick grandfather’s medical bills and his and his brother’s schooling.

Showtime Suspended by the MTRCB

The number one show in the morning slot Showtime hosted by Vhong Navarro, Anne Curtis and Kim Atienza is temporarily suspended for 20 days as ordered by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) due to the controversial statements of one of the jurors Ms. Rosanna Roces. ABS-CBN’s official statement

"In the spirit of self-regulation, ABS-CBN removed Rosanna Roces as a judge in SHOWTIME after she made statements against the teachers in the January 7 live show. But despite this, MTRCB still imposed a 20-day preventive suspension for the program.
A preventive suspension is issued to stop further violations, if there were any committed, or for the interest or welfare of the public. Thus, the network questions the need for said preventive suspension when Rosanna Roces has already been removed from the program.
SHOWTIME is a highly entertaining show watched by many Filipinos. It helps promote and showcase the creativity and talent of kapamilyas nationwide, uplifts their spirit and provides opportunities to improve their lives."



According to MTRCB, Osang named the teachers as 'repeaters.'

As a replacement for the show, ABS-CBN will launch the show "Magpasikat" which will showcase local celebrities talents.
