Zsa Zsa Padilla's touching Eulogy for Dolphy

In Zsa Zsa’s eulogy, she shared how Dolphy’s sickness began. She also thanked all those who have prayed for Dolphy and the family, those who have given their best care in the hospital, and all those who have supported them during the ordeal. She expressed her love for Dolphy and all that came with him most especially his children. She thanked him for a number of reasons: for giving her their two girls, for being a good provider for the family, for always putting a smile on her face, for teaching her to be strong, for being very thoughtful, for being loving and for being proud of her. In their 23 years of togetherness, she said that “it was worth it”.

Dolphy Dead at 83 due to Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

Rodolfo Vera Quizon Sr., popularly known as Dolphy, has passed away around 8:34 p.m. today, July 10, at Makati Medical Center due to multiple organ failure. He was 83.


The sad news was confirmed by his long-time partner Zsa Zsa Padilla who was with the late Comedy King and his whole family during the time of his death. The Comedy King has been in and out of the hospital for 5 years now due to Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), His remains will lies in state at the Heritage Park in Taguig City.

Dolphy is Now in Critical Condition at Makati Medical Center

Comedy King of Philippine showbiz Dolphy is now in critical condition at the Makati Medical Center according to his son Eric Quizon.


In an interview by “Bandila” Wednesday night, Eric Quizon said his father has been suffering from emphysema which limits the flow of air to and from the lungs, causing shortness of breath.

“As of now, his vitals are stable but nagpa-fluctuate kasi, e. So, yun yung problema. Ibig sabihin, it could change any time. So, at the same time, yung kanyang kidney nga, ino-observe pa, mino-monitor. Kasi nga, hindi natin talaga alam kung bigla itong magpe-fail na lang bigla nang totally,” he said.

Quizon compared hid dad’s disease to cancer.
“Ang ganitong klaseng sakit, five years ago sinabihan na siya na parang stage 4 ang sakit na iyon. In cancer terms, very critical na iyon,” he said.

It can be remembered that Dolphy was rushed to the hospital last June 9 because of pneumonia. It was the Comedy King’s 10th pneumonia attack since his 83rd birthday last year.

The King of Comedy 'Dolphy' in Critical Condition?

The King of Philippine Comedy 'Dolphy' has been in and out of the hospital recently according to his son Epy Quizon.

"My dad actually – he’s [been] in and out of the hospital. He’s actually sick, he’s very weak, his immune system is down, and of course, he’s old, he’s 83," Epy said in an interview aired on dzMM, March 6.


The actor added, "Medyo madali na siya magkasakit and of course, wala na siya sa hospital ngayon, nasa bahay na siya ngayon. He’s back, he’s recovering. Pero he’s really weak, he’s suffering, his immune system is really down."

’Yung normal, isang maliit na virus na minsan nililigo lang natin, iniinda na ng katawan natin. ‘Yung sa kanya, isang ganun, it will turn out to be a full-blown pneumonia. So balik na naman siya sa ospital, tapos pag nao-ospital siya, it takes weeks for this virus to leave.

"Tapos [pag] matanggal ‘yun, babalik na naman siya sa bahay, tapos may bibisita na naman na may bitbit na pera, sa jeep na sinakyan nila, dadalhin nila sa room ng daddy ko, maa-ano na naman daddy ko, full-blown pneumonia na naman," he said.

"Continuous prayer, kasi ako naniniwala ako na… There was a point in time nga na akala namin that was it kasi talagang sobrang hindi siya nakakahinga, kasi ever since naman my dad’s problem is the respiratory system, heart is good, heart is in perfect condition, the mind. Pero ‘yung respiratory talaga eh, may hika ‘yan eh.

"He’s there, ganoon pa rin siya magpatawa, the spirit, he’s always in high spirits. Nothing has changed, he’s just sickly recently," Epy said.
